Anthony A. Ciani, Architect

In 1980, Anthony A. Ciani founded Design With Conservation Associates in La Jolla, California. Today, he continues his philosophy to design and build projects with a lasting quality, to achieve the dreams of his clients in a manner that also conserves natural and cultural resources. His current work strives to incorporate the new sustainable technologies that have been developed since his first designs that used solar design and recycled building materials. The portfolio of his firm’s work over the last 29 years includes custom homes, interiors, landscapes, historic preservation and planning for public and private clients.

Tony collaborates with each client to create a design to enhance their personal lifestyle through the organization of the indoor and outdoor spaces, and to respond harmoniously with the surrounding setting. He plans projects to meet the functional and aesthetic needs of the owner, as well as, their budget and schedule. Local development criteria, if any, is incorporated into the design at the earliest phase to insure the project will simultaneously meet the owner’s and community's goals.

In addition to working closely with each client, and depending upon the complexity of the project; an interdisciplinary team of consultants collaborate under Tony’s direction, to plan and carry out the site work, structure, mechanical and electrical systems, interiors and landscape. The same level of care is given during the construction phase by working with general contractors, or by Tony providing construction management services to complete the project.
